PANASONIC LAUNCHES ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
“ NEW SPIRAL LIGHT CAPSULE ”
New energy saving lamp with 15000 hrs lifetime

Kuala Lumpur, 9 October 2008 - Panasonic today announced the release of the new energy saving lamp "New Spiral Light Capsule” with 15,000 hrs lifetime in Malaysia.

The portion of electricity consumption for lighting in household is approximately 19% of total household consumption. That means reducing electricity consumption by using efficient light source is quite effective to help slow down global warming.

"New Spiral Light Capsule” can contribute to reducing global warming by reducing energy consumption (saving of 80% against incandescent bulb) with ultra long life (15000hrs).

In order to achieve longest lifetime (15000hrs) in the industry, Panasonic developed new quadruple coil in electrode, which could sustain bigger volume of emitter. Thanks to this new technology and innovation in production, Panasonic is able to achieve the 15000 hrs lifetime which is 15 times longer than incandescent bulb.

Panasonic’s “New Spiral Light Capsule” is an innovative and environmentally friendly product that reduces both energy consumption and waste.

Also, Panasonic’s high-density bending technology for spiral arc tube can make arc-tubes more compact. In other words, high-density bending technology realizes both high efficiency and ultra small size.

Till now, Energy Saving Lamps are not suitable for some applications (lighting fixture) due to the big dimensions of lamps. However, Panasonic’s high-density bending technology can increase the replacement of incandescent bulbs to energy saving lamps thanks to the ultra small size which can promote the energy saving.
